Originally a supplier to Oldsmobile and Ford, the Dodge Bros. began building their own cars and founded the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company in 1914.

Chrysler Company

Since 1928 Dodge has been a brand of the Chrysler Corp. and at first offered mid-priced cars to fill the gap between the Plymouth and DeSoto brands.

The first Dodge Charger

The first Dodge Charger leaves the assembly line! Only a moderate hit in the beginning, the models from 1968 to 1970 were much more successful and made the Charger an icon to this day as one of the most sought after muscle cars of all time. Unforgettable film & TV appearances in “Bullit” with Steve McQueen, or “The Dukes of Hazzard” made it even more popular.

Challenger debut

The Challenger celebrated its debut in 1969 as a so-called Pony Car in competition with the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro. Pony Car? Very simple: less weight, smaller chassis than wide muscle cars but every bit as powerful with up to 7.2 liters engine displacement!

Dodge RAM - Car of the Year

In 1981 Dodge renamed the D series pickups Dodge RAM. Amazing success followed with 1994’s model, as reflected in the sales figures and “Car of the Year” award.

Dodge and RAM

Since 2009 the RAM has been independent and separate from the Dodge portfolio, in order to freshly position the now split-up Dodge and RAM brand with suitable market identities:

The new Dodge brand logo features two slanting racing stripes to highlight its sportiness. RAM can continue using the original Dodge Ram logo, since such attributes as power and strength should be associated with all RAM utility vehicles.

High Performance

As of June 1st 2011 the Dodge brand is no longer directly marketed in Germany.
